But if you step closer to the barn, you will find a very different story.

You will see steam rising from the animals’ breath in the crisp morning air. You will hear the rustle of fresh hay being hauled by hand. And you will feel the constant, rhythmic heartbeat of the work that keeps this historic land alive, even under a blanket of frost.

• Animal Care: As temperatures drop, our animals require significantly more calories to stay warm. That means more premium feed, specialized heating lamps for the piglets and rabbits, and deeper, warmer bedding.
• Preserving History: We use this time to repair the fences damaged by wind and maintain the historic structures that give Vineyard Farm its charm.
• Soil Preparation: We are actively planning and prepping the soil nutrients now to ensure the tulips and sunflowers you love in the spring can bloom.
