There's something absolutely magical about wandering through rows of towering evergreens, breathing in that crisp pine scent, and watching your kids' faces light up as they find "the perfect tree." At Vineyard Farm, we believe that choosing your Christmas tree should be so much more than a quick errand: it should be the start of your holiday memories.
Every December, our fields come alive with families creating traditions that'll last a lifetime. The crunch of frost under your boots, the warmth of hot cider in your hands, and that moment when everyone agrees "this is the one": that's what the holidays are really about.
Why Choose a Farm-Fresh Christmas Tree?
When you pick your tree straight from our fields, you're getting the freshest possible start to your holiday season. These aren't trees that have been sitting in a lot for weeks: they're cut fresh, often the same day you take them home. That means your tree will drink water eagerly, fill your home with that incredible evergreen fragrance, and keep its needles longer throughout the season.
But honestly? The freshness is just the beginning. When you choose Vineyard Farm for your Christmas tree, you're supporting local agriculture and becoming part of a community that's been growing these trees with love and care all year long.

Our Christmas Tree Selection
We grow several varieties of Christmas trees here at the farm, each with its own personality. Our Douglas Firs are the classic choice: full, fragrant, and perfect for heavier ornaments with their sturdy branches. The needle retention is excellent, and they have that traditional Christmas tree shape that looks just right in any living room.
If you're looking for something a little different, our Fraser Firs have shorter needles that curve upward, giving them a fuller appearance. They're often called the "Cadillac of Christmas trees" because of their excellent needle retention and strong branches. Plus, they have a lovely citrus scent that's a bit more subtle than other varieties.
For families with small children or anyone with needle sensitivity, our Nordmann Firs are a fantastic choice. These beautiful trees have glossy, dark green needles that don't drop easily and aren't sharp to the touch. They're perfect for families who want the full Christmas tree experience without the worry.
The Vineyard Farm Christmas Tree Experience
When you visit us for your Christmas tree, you're in for so much more than just tree shopping. We provide handsaws for those who want the full cut-your-own experience: there's something incredibly satisfying about sawing down your own tree while the kids cheer you on. Don't worry if you're not feeling quite that adventurous; we also have plenty of pre-cut trees that are just as fresh and beautiful.
Our friendly staff is always on hand to help with everything from choosing the right variety for your home to getting your tree netted and loaded onto your car. We'll even give it a fresh cut at the base and a good shake to remove any loose needles before you head home.

The best part? We make sure every family leaves with more than just a tree. We'll often have a warming fire going where you can roast marshmallows, and our farm stand is stocked with hot cider and homemade treats that taste even better in the crisp December air.
Beyond Trees: Complete Holiday Décor
Your Christmas tree might be the star of the show, but we've got everything you need to make your whole home feel festive. Our handmade wreaths are crafted right here on the farm using fresh greens from our fields. Each one is unique, full of character, and made with the same care we put into everything else we do.
We also create beautiful garlands that are perfect for draping over mantels, winding around banisters, or framing doorways. The scent of fresh evergreen throughout your home is something no store-bought decoration can replicate.
Looking for something extra special? We craft custom arrangements and centerpieces using our farm-grown greens, pinecones, and other natural materials. These make wonderful hostess gifts or can serve as the perfect centerpiece for your holiday table.
Tips for Choosing Your Perfect Tree
Choosing the right Christmas tree is part art, part science. First, measure your space at home: not just the height, but remember to account for your tree topper and make sure you have enough clearance from the ceiling. Width matters too, especially if your tree is going in a corner or smaller room.
When you're walking through our fields, look for a tree with good color: vibrant green without any brown or yellow patches. Gently run your hand along a branch; the needles should feel flexible, not brittle, and they shouldn't come off easily in your hand.

Don't forget to walk all the way around your potential tree. Sometimes a tree looks perfect from one side but has a bare spot on the back. Of course, if you're planning to put it in a corner, a flat back might actually be ideal!
Most importantly, trust your instincts. If a tree makes you smile when you look at it, that's probably the one. Christmas trees don't need to be perfect: they need to be perfect for your family.
Making It a Holiday Tradition
We love seeing the same families year after year, watching kids grow taller and eventually bringing their own children to pick out trees. That's the kind of tradition we're honored to be part of.
Many families make a whole day of it, combining their tree shopping with exploring everything else Vineyard Farm has to offer during the holiday season. Our farm store is filled with locally-made gifts, our famous farm-fresh jams, fresh honey, and seasonal treats that make perfect stocking stuffers or hostess gifts.
If you've never experienced our farm during other seasons, let us tempt you to come back! Spring brings our pick-your-own strawberry season, summer means blueberries and flowers, and fall is absolutely magical with apple picking, our corn maze, and pumpkin patches. Each season has its own special charm, and we'd love to be part of your family's year-round traditions.
Bringing Your Tree Home
Once you've chosen your perfect tree, we'll help you get it home safely. We provide netting to make transport easier, and our staff can help load even the largest trees onto your vehicle. If you don't have a way to transport your tree, ask us about delivery options: we want to make sure every family can enjoy a farm-fresh Christmas tree.
When you get home, give your tree another fresh cut about an inch from the bottom and get it into water as soon as possible. A fresh tree can drink up to a gallon of water in its first day, so check that water level frequently during the first week.

At Vineyard Farm, we know that choosing a Christmas tree is about so much more than just getting holiday decorations. It's about creating memories, starting traditions, and bringing a little bit of the farm's warmth and authenticity into your home.
